We are absolutely devastated to say that we have lost our gorgeous big boy, Otter.  He became poorly suddenly and was quickly diagnosed with pancreatitis.  There was very little that could be done for him, it's not something that can be 'fixed', though we did try.  He spent a few days at the vets on a drip in the hope that it would rest the pancreas.  This didn't work, he wasn't eating and lost more weight.  We took the decision to let him go, we just didn't want him to suffer. This was one of the most heartbreaking decisions we have ever had to make but had to do what was best for him.  We found the following poem and felt it was very apt.

Goodbye big guy, you are sadly missed

IF IT SHOULD BE

If it should be that I grow weak, and pain should keep me from my sleep.
Then you must do what must be done, for this last battle can't be won.

You will be sad, I understand. Don't let your grief then stay your hand.
For this day more than all the rest, your love for me must stand the test.

We have had some happy years, what is to come can hold no fears.
You'd not want me to suffer so. The time has come, please let me go.

Take me where my needs they'll tend and please stay with me until the end.
Hold me firm and speak to me, until my eyes no longer see.

I know in time that you will see, the kindness that you did for me.
Although my tail its last has waved, from pain and suffering I've been saved.

Please do not grieve it must be you who had this painful thing to do.
We've been so close, for these years. Don't let your heart hold back its tears.

SKADI

19TH OCTOBER 2008 - 8TH NOVEMBER 2008

We  very sadly lost our white girl, Skadi, to Fading Kitten Syndrome on the 8th November 2008.  She was checked by our vet who advised us that sometimes it is just 'Natures Way' that you lose some.

We can't help but feel that if this is natures way, then nature is cruel.  

Rest in Peace little one, we will always remember you
